The Hillsborough Street Renovation Is Nearly Complete!

It’s been well over a year since the renovation and construction began on Hillsborough Street.
With the installation of each new streetlamp, the planting of beautiful young trees, bicycle stands, and parking spots… yes, parking spots!... we see that the end is truly near.

Renovation ceremonies, festivals and parties are already in the works, but at Porter’s, we’re a little too excited to wait.
So, we’re celebrating the end of the construction with our own very special event…

5 Outstanding Chefs
5 Courses
5 of North Carolina’s Finest Beers…
One Great Night!

The Summer Beer Dinner at Porter’s City Tavern

For the past few years, Porter’s has celebrated each of the four seasons with terrific beer dinners, featuring some of the best breweries in the country.
Brooklyn, Bell’s, Dogfish Head, Victory, and our own local Big Boss, just to name a few.

This summer however, the guest of honor will not be a brewery.
To commemorate the renovation and renaissance of Hillsborough Street, our Summer Beer Dinner will be a celebration of Porter’s City Tavern itself!

And to help us celebrate, all 5 Executive Chefs from the Urban Food Group family of restaurants, will be in the kitchen at Porter’s,
preparing a 5 Course meal, paired with 5 different beers, drawn from Porter’s outstanding selection of North Carolina Draft Beer.

Each chef will be assigned a beer, and a course, in a random drawing. The food they create to match that beer will be totally up to them.
And to make it even more fun… only the chefs will know what they’re preparing! The menu will be revealed to the rest of us, course by course, as the evening unfolds…
(*An important side note- Vegetarians take heart! The chefs will provide vegetarian versions of each course, please let us know when you make your reservation if you prefer this option.)

So come join us for our best, and most special beer dinner yet!

Wednesday Evening, 7:00 p.m., July 21st.
$50.00 per person

Reservations now being accepted- call Porter’s City Tavern at 919.821.2133

More details are coming soon, and will be posted HERE.

Update on the space formerly known as Frazier's....

Construction is scheduled to start on June 21st in the space at 2418 Hillsborough Street, with an eye on an early fall opening!
Urban Food Group’s newest venture, which is soon to be named, will carry on the same traditions established at Frazier’s- fantastic food & fantastic service, but with a much more approachable menu, in a comfortable and casual setting.

The menu will offer small, affordable plates with a focus on fresh, local ingredients, and an ever-changing accompanying seasonal wine selection.

We’re very excited by the possibilities, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

To make things clear... Porter's is DEFINITELY OPEN!!
Executive Chef Jeremy Sabo, along with Porter's Chefs Brian Woodworth and Bert Wojciechowski are making some updates to our menu. In addition, we are currently negotiating the possibility of opening a Rooftop Dining Area!
